In Thompson v. Avondale, the firm represented the chairman of the ESOP administrative committee of a publicly held company.  The plaintiffs claimed that two stock transactions authorized by the Committee violated ERISA and resulted in a $57 million loss to the ESOP.  The Court found after an eight-day trial that the Committee had acted prudently to diversify the ESOP’s assets.  Plaintiffs took nothing.
