Cassandra “Cassie” R. Hewlings joined the firm in 2015 and is an associate in the New Orleans office. Cassie primarily focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, and surety and fidelity law. She also has experience in officer and director liability litigation, professional malpractice, securities litigation, general tort litigation, and representing attorneys in disciplinary matters.
Cassie graduated summa cum laude and Order of Coif from Tulane University Law School in 2013. While in law school, she served as Articles and Online Editor for the Tulane Law Review, and was a published member as well. Cassie was an extern for the Honorable Judge Ivan Lemelle of the Eastern District of Louisiana; research assistant to Professor Sally Richardson; and a student attorney in Tulane’s Civil Litigation Clinic. Cassie also was awarded the Rufus C. Harris Award in Torts and the Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann merit scholarship, and received the highest grades in Administrative Law, Torts, and Federal Courts, and CALI awards in Torts and Federal Courts.
Prior to attending law school, Cassie earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Cassie is also a current and past member of several professional and public interest organizations, including the 2015-2016 Leadership Class for the Louisiana Bar Association. She was awarded the Tulane Student Crest Award for Service and a Tulane 34 Award for 2013 for excellence in service and academics.
